Big Turkey bowlers are serious about having a good time - but not so serious about bowling. So, how lame would it be if shoes each week weren't part of the league fee? Pretty lame, indeed. Shoes and lanes are taken care of - just show up on Big Turkey night and get your bowl on. What if the season went on forever, like those old school 30 week leagues that the old geezers seem to enjoy? Yikes. We don't know anyone who wants to bowl that many weeks in a row. You could start to get good at it. A little too good...

Despite timeless appeal and its own strange but internally consistent aesthetic, it is hard to look cool when you're sliding around trying to roll a heavy ball... aka Bowling. Most of us aren't very good at it and there's no shame in our lack of game (or apparent physical coordination). And, those rare Big Turkey-ers that threaten 200 consistently tend to generate some suspicion. "How did you get so good at this, anyway?" Three theme nights a league take bowling goofiness and bear hug it like a lumberjack. 12 lanes of people wearing fake mustaches, 70s threads, or giant hats is an end in itself. Not feeling like dress up? No problem - theme night participation is both encouraged and extremely optional. Yeah?

No gutter balls for the Bi-Polar Rollers

The Bi-polar rollers were on a roll wednesday night, beating out the Lane Rangers for a shot at the championship title in game 2. Veterans Two Gutter Balls in a Row showed off some serious skills in the championship game, but it was the Bi-polar rollers consistant performance throughout the night that clinched the title. Way to go guys!
